Think of them as your gaming concierge! Our Casino Hosts are here to help you make the most of your visit to Saratoga Casino Black Hawk. Feel free to reach out to one of our Casino Hosts.
Chuck Carey, Casino Host
Chuck owes his well-rounded nature to growing up as a military child. He was born in San Francisco, and his Air Force family calls Ohio their home, but Chuck has lived all over the world – from Japan through Germany to Turkey.
After graduating from Auburn University in Alabama, Chuck’s love for the outdoors took him to Summit County, Colorado, where he coached swimming for over a decade. An avid skier and fly-fisherman, he has also summited 24 of our state’s 58 fourteeners. He even had a hand in opening the Backcountry Brewery, winner of six Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals at the Great American Beer Festival, the nation’s premier beer competition.
Chuck joined the Saratoga family in 2011 as a Food and Beverage Supervisor, but he’s been playing video poker in Black Hawk since 1991. His love for gaming and in-depth understanding of what makes players happy have made him an invaluable part of the player development team. Chuck has earned a reputation for anticipating the needs and wants of guests and always going above and beyond the call of duty to exceed their expectations.
Joanie Chavez, Casino Host
When asked about her favorite thing about being a Casino Host, Joanie answers without hesitation – it’s the people. And there is no greater testament to that than her 21-year tenure at the property. “I meet so many wonderful people every day,” adds Joanie, “but the best part is that, after all these years, my work relationships have become more than personal friendships, they are now my extended family.”
Joanie was born in nearby Boulder, Colorado, but grew up in California. She began her gaming industry career in 1995 as a Slot Club Supervisor at Fitzgerald’s, after finally returning to her home state to start a family surrounded by the beauty of the Rockies.
After a long day of taking care of her Saratoga family, Joanie’s favorite past time is to play with her seven grandchildren. She also enjoys tending to her yard and gardening, which must be where she gets the knack for arranging beautiful flower arrangements and centerpieces for VIP dinners, where she always ensures every little detail is just right for the enjoyment of her players.
If you don’t see her on the casino floor bonding with players and inquiring about their families, she’s probably visiting relatives in New Mexico or cruising to foreign lands with – you guessed it – her family!
Noy Sayasane, Casino Host
A San Diego native, Noy moved to Denver in 1998. He studied criminal justice at Metropolitan State University before beginning his journey in gaming nearly 17 years ago.
Noy rose quickly through the ranks of player development and reached management at a large property, but it was at Saratoga (Fitzgerald’s at the time) where he could truly realize his passion for exceptional service. “What I enjoy the most about my work at a smaller casino is the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with guests,” he explained. “Earning and keeping the loyalty of your players is very rewarding, when you are empowered to take a personalized approach in creating a visit worth looking forward to.”
When he’s not on the gaming floor looking for ways to improve the experience of his guests, Noy enjoys spending time at the gym and staying in shape. It must pay off at the pool lounge during his annual Vegas getaways! While he and his wife, Jolene, are away, their Shih Tzu and miniature dachshund like to entertain themselves with movies from Noy’s extensive action and comedy flick collection.
